Collecting information digitally and organizing it properly will be a learning process for me. While I have spent time searching for information about a topic before, I have not spent a lot of time using tools such as Diigo to save and share my own research! I will be organizing documents, images, and videos instead of saving files into folders. This will require a shift in my own mental organization of information. I hope that figuring this out for myself will also help me to help my students curate their own resources in their learning.
I have a specific purpose in this project - learn to code so that I can design and adjust my website to my particular liking. I will begin figuring this out by collecting information - articles, videos, and more via Diigo. I may also use Evernote, which I am more familiar with, to collect information and save it in the cloud. Also, upon return to school, I may ask my IT tech on campus or EdTech programmers for some tricks of the trade if I need further clarification. Ultimately, it would be wonderful if I can share my own learning with my Mayan Genius Bar students to help them further develop their own help desk website!
