Sara Chai is an energetic junior high science teacher and technology resource teacher in San Diego. She has enjoyed most of her life in Southern California, though she enjoys a good trip to visit friends and family. This past summer Sara was a Teacher-Ranger-Teacher at Cabrillo National Monument, where she did research on owl limpets and put together a classroom and field lesson to help students learn about the rocky intertidal and the larger ecological issues facing the organisms.
While she isn't in her classroom or doing her own schoolwork, you can find Sara searching the tide pools for amazing critters like nudibranchs and octopus! She also enjoys a good run or hike, cooking new recipes, and planning her next trip. She feels blessed to be able to visit friends in a variety of places - from Hawaii to Seattle and even England!
Sara is now more than halfway through the SDSU/SDCOE Masters Program in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in technology. The courses allow her to mix her intellectual curiosity with her knowledge of science, learning, and teaching. There have been a few tough times for the brain, but It is her hope that this adventure will challenge her to continue supporting her students and providing them with many chances to experience their own learning journey!
